My research is in numerical analysis and scientific computing. Some of my long-term focus areas are:

  • numerical methods for partial differential equations (PDEs) on surfaces,
  • simulation of thermonuclear fusion from cavitation,
  • parallel computing of PDEs via domain decomposition,
  • numerical methods for the time evolution for PDEs,
  • numerical methods for interfacial dynamics.

I am also working on exciting new collaborative projects, which target emerging challenges in science and engineering.   These projects include:

  • methods in scientific machine learning and PDEs,
  • numerical methods for weather forecasting, and
  • structure preserving discretizations and their applications.
